Our New York cheddar cheese is extra sharp, meaning, it is aged for 16 months and has a hearty, rich flavor.  It is packed in a black wax which will preserve the flavor and makes a nice presentation as a gift or at your next party. (Note: please do not confuse with English or Irish cheddar when wondering about NY cheddar - the flavor, texture, processing - everything is different. We think NY cheddar tastes much better and is more versatile.) New York cheddar cheese is the most popular cheese to use with Tex-Mex dishes, such as shredded in tacos, melted over tortilla chips, or stuffed and melted in Jalapeno peppers. Try it in omelettes and souffles, over baked potatoes, melted as a cheese fondue, melted over hamburgers and hot dogs, as the main cheese in Macaroni & Cheese or grilled cheese sandwiches...the possibilities are endless! Each wax-packed gem can make about 70 cracker-size slices. We can only ship this product during the cold months, so please order quickly to ensure your full supply to last during the warmer months. A rich, creamy cheese soup that gets it's full taste from aged cheddar. Enjoy the soup as an appetizer or main dish, or, use it as the cheese ingredient in Macaroni & Cheese cassarole, or cook down to serve as a Cheese Dip with tortilla chips or pretzels. Pour over tacos or cooked vegetable dishes such as asparagus, cauliflower, broccoli, or potatoes. The only ingredient you will need to add when cooking is water. Each can makes about 1 1/4 liters of soup (5-6 servings). TIPS: For a spicier version of Cheddar Cheese Soup, add a few spoonfuls of our Bushwhacker's Hot & Spicy Savory Sauce to the soup base when cooking.
