Sundays at Dickens Christmas in Skaneateles

Every Sunday since Thanksgiving we’ve been serving free samples of our fruit preserves at the annual Dickens Christmas in the holiday-postcard village of Skaneateles. There’s nothing more “old world” than a dollop of fruit preserves on crackers and cheese!  We’ve been serving our fruit preserves to visitors from all over New York and the northeast who’ve traveled all this way to enjoy the annual festival of food, shopping, and all things beloved from Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.”

Never Heard of Dickens Christmas in Skaneateles?

Skaneateles is one of many historic towns that dot the beautiful Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. It is known for it’s quaint downtown shops, excellent dining and location right on the shore of Skaneateles Lake. Every weekend between Thanksgiving and Christmas, the village plays host to a cast of more than 50 characters of the beloved Charles Dickens writings, who roam the village performing street theater while interacting with shoppers, singing carols, and posing for fun holiday photos. You’ll find Charles Dickens himself, Scrooge, Father Christmas, Tiny Tim, Mother Goose - and even Queen Victoria comes to town to take in this very American holiday celebration. There are horse drawn carriage rides, roasted chestnuts, eggnog, mulled cider and YES – free fruit preserves from us!  It’s “merriment for the whole family.”

Find us SUNDAY in White Birch Tasting Room from 12-3 for free fruit preserve samples along with free mulled wine (located at 18 W. Genesee St., directly across from the gazebo on the lake).

There’s only one more Sunday left until Christmas, in fact it’s the same Sunday upon which Hanukkah begins AND it marks the first day of Winter…so there is MUCH to celebrate. Why not take a relaxing Sunday drive to Skaneateles and enjoy the sights and sounds of the holiday season!
